I'm about to purchase this domain and need to know a fair price?

I guess me posting this in the domain appraisals was wrong since I dont own it yet, sorry.

how bad do you want it?

$133.17

But seriously, how much money do you have and how badly do you want it?

I'd start low- whatever the minimum Sedo will allow you to offer. (I'm assuming you're using Sedo as the site is a Sedo parked page?).
Then let them come back with a counter-offer and see what the disparity in your valuations is- you'll be able to judge your proper offer a little better then.

I can't tell you how much you should spend on pinkforum.com. But , I would suggest that if you truely intend to buy it you should immediately register pinkforum.org, which is still available as of this typing. Depending on the type of site you intend to make the .org may work very well and you may not even need the .com. Good luck.

Personally, I'd be willing to pay early $xxx if I was truly interested. But since I'm not, I can't say. Is PinkForums.com avail to reg?

The org extension isn't a good idea if you're going to use pinkforum for an adult forum (remember Hustler magazine's slogan: "think pink").

It sounds as though you have already made up your mind to buy it. If that's the case, make a reasonable offer...It's hard to give advice if we don't know your budget or the asking price.

It's not a popular domain, so why not ask the seller what the asking price is?

if your budget is $200 and there's no asking price, offer $75. If your budget is $500 and the asking price is $300, offer $150. If the asking price is $x,xxx, politely explain your max budget was $xxx, and wish him good luck. If he's at all interested, he'll respond to you.

The word 'pink' (in)famously refers to a female's, well, I don't think you need me to explain. lol That's true but pink is commonly associated with girls, in general. PinkForum.com doesn't have to be adult. It could easily be a forum for teen girls. Just my 2 cents.

In another thread twells22 wanted to start a forum with talkharmony.com about general life topics. I suspect this is part of the same project and not a sex forum. I personally would just pick a good name that is not already registered and start the forum. If it has good content, the name won't be that critical. Talkharmony.com was a little long, but people will bookmark it if they are a regular to your forum.

His counter offer was $139, I wanted it pretty bad so I took it. And yes Verbster your right at what I'm doing with it. I am also doing the TalkHarmony.com as well. Its kind of a project I've been wanting to do, complete opposite sites, complete opposite people. Ethical? I don't know but I think it will be fun and a good thing to learn from.

When I heard pinkforum the first two things that popped into my head were:
-A Gay Community
-Fans of the popstar Pink

May be referring to a *ahem* is an American thing, I didn't make the association.

My estimate wasn't too far out then :)

So good buy or no?

Well, I'd say yes because-

-You wanted it
-You could afford it
-It fitted in with the value expectations posted above in the likes of Archangel & Verbster's posts.

I guess it is. It's a common American term :)

yes, it is a good buy.

It is good you did not buy the .org version, if the seller saw you had
the .org version, then you would have to pay much higher.

That makes no sense. How would he know that he's the one who owns it? For all anyone knows this may be the person who already owns the .net.

In some non-English speaking countries (like Japan), the English word "pink" is associated with anything adult-related.

Well that's exactly what its going to be associated with in this forum.

Good luck with the forum; I think you've picked up a good deal there.

With so much association towards the word "pink" in adult terms, you've got an easily brandable name there. Nice buy IMO.
