How much should I ask for my domain name

i had this e-mail from a interested buyer that has the same domain that i have but with a different extension. The name is a one word, short and descriptive, the guy that contacted me said that their website received over fourteen million pageviews last month alone, and he would like to discuss the transfer of the domain to his company.
so i'm wondering, how much should i ask for.

Wait a second, what was the exact verbage used? Did he specially offer to financially compensate you. I would be concerned when I hear the word transfer as if the domain has to be because their site is allegedly popular.

I agree with HBK here. Did he offer any type of financial compensation in his email or just asked that you hand the name over? You are not giving us very many useful details to provide you with any assistance. You state the name is one word and descriptive but is it a generic term or does it rest on the terms of TM or Copyright infringement?

The term is not a copyright or even a trademark, the first mail is clear about their will to buy the domain name, I got another e-mail asking for the price i have in mind.

If you share the extension their name is in and your extension, it would help.
