How much for a renewal?!

Have you ever had a registrar change their register/renewal price?

My register that I have been using for a few years now all of a sudden jumped their prices from $7.-- to $15.08 . What could have caused that big of a jump?!? Let alone that is the highest I've seen in a LONG time, even the biggest sites are way cheaper.

I'm just shocked and pissed at it because if I want to keep the name I have to pay it right? I'm going to look into changing registrar.

More of a vent than anything, I just don't see how it could jump that much when the average is probably $6-$8.

I would simply move your domains to another, more reliable registrar.

Probably be the number one rule of a register, don't up the renewal price unless its clearly a advertised special. Fastest way to loose customers.

Trying to encourage more "drops" as that seems to be where the money is for registrars these days?
