I was wondering how much everyone makes with domain parking. Please post how much YOU makes and how many domains you own :)

Myself I'm very new to domain parking and I paid a friend of mine to find domains for me and I'm making $30-$50 daily with 31 domains :)

This is my first month and so far $480.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
that's because of what they add to their portfolio's... random names like 4 to 8 letter or numbered domains in various extensions, new .whatevers, and so-called brandables, those categories rarely make a dime from parking..

Actually I have two .TO domains that each pay just shy of $500/month. When I had numeric domains, I had a couple that paid ok, maybe $1 to $1.5 a day.

I put all domains i'm buying immediately on parking. Who knows when i'll have a time to develop them, or when i'll sell them. But some of them amaze me, showing some residual traffic or $5-7 clicks. Then of course i grab them from the parking and develop.

Actually not. I'm a SEO domainer and dont give a damn on the word match etc. I'm dealing only with drops that have good backlinks and thus SEO metrics.

true. I was just making point new domainers iwth no knowledge of what you just mentioned, ending up with with mostly or all handregs, have practically no hope of making parking money today. cheers.

Don't worry too much these results are pretty typical. Most of the guys who earn $$$ have mined names specifically for their parking metrics. Concentrate on re-selling your domains instead and if you want to earn parking you'll have to learn how to find dropping names with good backlinks and CPC.

Almost without exception, the best way to get money from a domain name that you've registered through any registrar is NOT to park it. My personal opinion is that parking a domain is throwing potential revenue away. Unless your keywords and domain name are out of this world, you probably won't make enough to even cover your annual registration fees. The exception is if you find a domain name that has a high pay-per-click value. That's more than I can cover here.

Instead, develop a small website (usually referred to as a mini-site) where you can control content, branding, advertisements or paid links -- and overall quality. A mini-site might be 3-5 pages long. Some advertisers (e.g., Google Adsense) do not permit one-page sites when using their ads. Read the T's & C's of the ad provider. You can also use the site to sell the domain name!

Develop expertise in using the Google Keyword Planner. (It has replaced what was called the Google Adwords Keyword Tool).

Back to your mini-site... The better the quality, the more traffic. The more traffic, the more Pay Per Click (PPC) revenue. Even limited traffic can provide substantial click-through revenue on rare keywords. Just make sure that the keywords are drawing at least 1,000 views a month.

Do as much as you can do by yourself, while recognizing your limitations. Be sure to write out your expectations/ requirements/ specs/ goals for the site. If you are not a web designer, either use a templating engine like WordPress, or purchase a web designer by the job.

Contract a graphic designer for a simple but professional logo. Buy some inexpensive stock photography. Use a content provider to write your text, incorporating 3-5 keywords for your page (check out TextBroker as example).

Hire an SEO specialist to ensure you get front-page search-engine traffic. Hire talent to do a welcome video.

You might spend as little as $200-$500 or as much as $8,000-$10,000 on such a site, but if you put some of your own elbow grease into it, your annual payback could be very good. If you have a domain that is worth $10, it may not pay to sink a fortune into it. But if the domain has a valuation of $10,000, sinking another $5-10,000 into a well-performing site could produce some nice ongoing revenue. Keep in mind that you're also increasing the domain name value at the same time you're improving your PPC revenue.

There are a bunch of micro-production sites where you can have folks bid on your job. The most well known of these is fiverr . com, where you can get a variety of services at a price that you specify. Once you find a great contractor, don't let them go. Keep them busy!

Welcome Ethan,

but don't forget
that then you are no longer in the domaining business
but in the domain development business

I got about 1 domain name that is current making about $10 month on average, i have more domains which are receiving traffic but not getting any clicks. But then again they are parked on afternic at the moment, maybe not the best place for parking

Yup, almost everything in 10 to 50 USD per click. 98% are from US, but from time to time there is a click from India.

But the 50 USD clicks had become rarer and rarer in the last weeks. It seems there is an overall decline of CPC.

parking is not dead.. but your numbers are minnority and way above averages..

can you share nay of your parking knowledge here? are your top parked domains also valuable for sale value? are they old? don't tell me your getting these numbers on some recent or not so old handregs :)

cheers

Agree with Smurge.
Is not that easy at the beginning. And Why someone will accept 150$ for 10 domains that will make at least 1$ a day?
In my world, if it sounds strange, it's strange.

Now I'm starting to worry :(

Wow You guys really rock...I am very new in domain parking...I don't knw where to start...I simply buy domains to build/develop them and have portfolio of over 100 domains right now out of which 50% are going under development and roughly 20% are developed and rest are parked till the time there turn comes for development and from them I am earning cents/day...

So Is there any one which can help me buy few domains that I can earn atleast 100-200 $ /month

Interesting

I found this thread because I seem to have acquired a few domain names with the intent of developing them. It ticked me off that go-daddy was parking them with ads so I decided to look into this myself.

I would like to know, share-share, are you still doing well at this.

I realize people don't want to share this information. I have been looking around for mentors for e-commerce. My couple of sites do OK but I would really like to get to the next level. For that, it cannot be read in books or self taught, you have to find a mentor, and the right one at that.

:talk:

Hi Carrie

ALL registrars are putting ads on your domain names, until YOU do something with them.

it didn't used to be that way but since the "ppc" boom started, registrars have made that action a "default", upon registration.

still, there is money to be made in domain parking, and to "do well" or be "doing well", is proportional to the amount of domain names you own, along with your ability to sustain the portfolio with those earnings, domain sales or other 'residual' web related income.

and although it's nice to just have some dollars coming from domain parking, you really don't want to be dependent on a single revenue stream.

Good Luck!

imo....

I have about 80 domains parked and I make between €60 - €110 a month. Although some of those domains don't make a cent a few seem to get steady traffic and others have high cpc which makes up for those that don't.

Do you realise the OP hasn't posted for 6 months so it's possible the earnings on his screenshot have been chargebacks. Probably the guy who sold him the domains was into something fishy!

Some people when money is involved, have no values or moral.

My earnings wasnt chargeback and i got paid. Although i asked him where the traffic came and he said ppc. So it wasnt legit rly. Im not ordering anymore from him. Hope this clear things up

Cheers!

If he knows of PPC traffic which converts well as they did in your case, then he should be using it on his own parked domains - there are some Parking companies which accept arb traffic if the traffic quality is good. So instead of cancelling your deal with him you should have changed your business model with him.

I pay him $150 per 10 domains, and then I have to buy them for $10 each. So I have invested $750 for 30 domains

I own around 40 good dot.com names that I purchased many years ago and never developed sites but had parked on Sedo for a while and I made very little. I would like to build sites on them but can't affford the cost, websites,SEO,content, ect. I came here for advice and I think the names are really good. Any advice is welcomed. I own generic automotive names, mortgage names, banking names, lending, music, ect.
