I was on a buying bug 6 months ago and was buying anything and everything i have over 400 but i would say half were just stupid impulse buys ,,,,

Now i'm just concentrating on one niche (cannabis and marijuana) and maybe buying the odd one or two that really take my fancy

Do free XYZ and Berlin domains count? :p

As mentioned, it's all about quality and not quantity. I could go out and hand register 1,000 domains right now. Would they sell? Quite possibly. Would I break even? Not a chance, unless I did research on all of those domains and saw that the benefit overly outweighed the risk for a 12 month span in PPC/sales.

Additionally, about the comment with domainers wanting their portfolios numbers to go down. This is true, it means that you're making sales and revenue (hopefully profit). However, you still want to reinvest as you would in the stock market and make your portfolio grow with quality on your return of investment.

Imagine owning 2 quality names, selling them, then blowing everything. You now have $0 and 0 names. Flip this scenario around selling 2 quality names, a withdraw on one and reinvesting the other amount into 5-10 quality names that could each sell for the average amount that the 2 did.

Of course, after a sale, take a withdraw... or what's the point?
