How long does it usually take for a domain to transfer from one registrar to another?

So I switched companies for my website. When I go to the Control Panel of my new host, it says the domain is waiting for approval. I received an email saying that they sent the required forms to my old host and that they were just waiting for approval. How long does this process usually take? I need for it to be ready by Monday (the change was done on Thursday). Thanks in advance.

well if the same registrar i think it is 24~48 hrs. but from one to another it took 7 days.

As the request is going to be submitted to the registry for the transfer

5 days at most for me, sometimes quicker.

That's fast as lightning! I usually have to wait one month or so (always from some registrar to moniker).

Really? I'm trying to transfer a domain now to GoDaddy. I hope it won't take a month

That's odd. It only took me a total of 5 days to complete my last transfer to
Moniker from eNom, and that's from unlocking the domain name to confirming
with Moniker to clicking confirm from eNom's own transfer-away link.

Generally speaking, it can take anywhere from maybe 27 hours to 7 days to,
heaven forbid, a month to complete a domain registrar transfer. It depends on
how soon all the parties involved do their respective parts, but it should take,
on average, up to 5 to 7 days to do the whole thing.

Fastest I've seen a user complete is under 30 hours, from start to finish. I did
notice that happens when one's transferring away from Go Daddy.
