I setup a website related to wallpapers a couple of days a go and just wondered how long (roughly) it takes for Google to start indexing the pages and displaying content?

I've searched in Google the URL but only get 1 result.

Thanks,
Jamie

is this multiple of ten literal or figurative? if it's the former, i would be interested in the data that supports this.

I meant that it takes less time to index in google if you use sitemap. :) Thats all.

I usually get my websites indexed within 3 weeks. But as mentioned above, listed on what keywords? That's why i think working with long-tail keywords is a good thing, less competition, faster results.

I have a blog and all I have to do is to write an article in there with a link and something related to my new site that I want to be indexed. The whois set to private for the site that is linked at. (At name.com private whois is free.) Usually within a couple of hours, at least not more than a day to get indexed. Sitemap doesn't matter if your index page is clear.
If you want to be indexed fast, include the link in a post in any other large blog or forum.
