I noticed that Google ranks it's non-paid results (the main column, not the pay per click or sponsored searches) differently than MSN and Yahoo.
Why is that?
I typed in "document assistant" in the search box for google and I saw this URL - www.documentassistant.com as the #1 result out of over 80,000,000 search results. Which makes sense because the URL is named "document assistant."
However, when I tried the same thing for MSN and Yahoo, the URL www.documentassistant.com does not show up...not even in the first 4 pages of results.
Then I tried "document assistance" and saw the URL www.documentassistance.com as the #1 result in Google....however, not the same result for MSN and Yahoo.
My conclusion is that Google takes into heavy consideration your URL name and makes that as one of the keywords as part of it's search even if it doesn't have spaces between the words or phrases (i.e. "documentassistant" - google treats it as "document assistant").
Is this true? Can someone confirm or have a better explanation as to WHY and HOW Google ranks it's non-paid results....
Thanks!
