question How does SV, CPC , RDT, etc., really matter?

When outbounding EMDs, having keywords that have a high search volume is often seen as a good parameter. Then there is the CPC, Length, RDT, etc., But considering the fact that Google stopped ranking EMDs higher a long time ago, do these parameters really matter in SEO and if they do, how exactly? Thanks.
