Sedo domain brokerage has sold name such as

Call.com for $1.1 Million
Editor.com for $225,000
Alternate.com for $90,000
Brazil.com for $500,000

and more!!

So the question is, How does "Sedo brokerage" successfully find end users so quick ?

Any sample of their sales letter ?
Do they just email potential clients, or make phone calls ?

I guess it might be the other way around.

An end-user might contact them, hire as brokers, tell the limits and request to do the job for them.

so that means most of all the sales made are to domainers ?

seems like a simple straightforward message.

I think most buyers at Sedo come to the site because of a domain parking page or because the seller sent them to the listing page of the domain they have listed.

I also would consider these sales happening "Quickly" as you first stated. Clearly many of these domain names have been registered for many years!

Agreed, my first sedo sale occurred almost a year after I added any of my names to the database. As Jamie said, the landing pages help drive in lots of sales as well.

I agree with you, Mike. I've been at Sedo for 7 months but haven't had any sale (in fact I haven't had any offer). Hope I'll have to wait no more than 5 months :)

I have always said that interested parties will likely visit a domain name DIRECTLY if they are interested in buying it. It is then up to the domain name owner to allow an easy way for the interested party to:

A.) let them know the domain is for sale
B.) Make it easy for the interested party to make an offer
C.) Give the interested party the "safe" feeling so they buy

One way of doing this, is NOT to worry about PPC rev (domain parking) and direct visitors of your domain to a page that shows the domain is for sale and they can buy it for X amount or submit an offer.

An example would be what I do with Redrops.com . I set up domain forwarding and send visitors directly to the sales landing page on Sedo. Yes you lose out on PPC rev but I also think Sedo's parking lander's are hard to tell the domain name is for sale.

I guess you have to decide if PPC rev or selling your domain is more important.

Just out of curiosity, what percentage of the sale price do Sedo brokers require to sell a domain?

I think years of people parking at Sedo has helped them build their regular user base as most of my end user offers have come straight from the parked pages at various companies. You have to decide if you wanna tap into a market leader and park at Sedo or build your own domain sales site and redirect those sales links to your own sales site offer forms which is possible at other parking companies. The advantage of Sedo is there is already a strong customer base. The advantage of your own site is cutting out a 10% middle man and the ability to slowly build your own end user lead database which could provide recurring sales over anonymous sales. Another advantage of your own site is they don't have to join to make an offer and you can route it through Escrow.com and have the cash wired in 2-3 days instead of weeks. If your looking for quick anonymous sales Sedo is good, if you have time/cash to build/advertise your own sales venue you might end up with a decent recurring business if you have some quality domains. Any sale at your own site is profit where your domains at Sedo are burried among millions so you kinda have to park there to get them to stick out at all.

Not so quick, they might have spent months chasing the end users for those gems :)

Call.com for $1.1 Million - GoDaddy parked whois privacy
Editor.com for $225,000 - Sedo Parked
Alternate.com for $90,000 - pointed to .de website
Brazil.com for $500,000 - GoDaddy parked whois privacy

Looks like 3 out of 4 on your list "could be" domainers and not end-users, although its not possible to know for sure with privacy on....would an end-user bother with privacy if it was to be used for a business ?

Has anybody engaged Sedo Brokers to proactively broker a domain for them?

If so, what was the outcome?
