Brokerage
I need a LOT of advice; help is greatly appreciated, i'm looking for experienced voices of reason and wisdom. I'm a newbie when it comes to this stuff.
My biggest concern is with brokerage. I'm currently trying to establish contacts throughout the domain industry, right across the board. I'm trying to put myself in touch with willing buyers, buyers who are at the end of an IM, phone call or e-mail. I'm looking to broker domains, solely to amass enough capital to start buying names. I'm working on the perfect copy letter to send to this one particular owner; I look to personalise each and every e-mail I send. I'm persuasive and above all else, persistent! All before i've even tried to initiate my first deal.
Now, this is a lot of work to put in only to watch the buyer and seller conclude a deal between them. I can put forward the merits of having a "professional" broker on hand, for purposes of communication, negotiation, smooth transfer and the rest, but this, IMO, isn't enough. So what would you suggest?
A professional contract? How do you make this enforceable? I live in Scotland, will this even be enforceable if I were to conclude a deal with a client who lives abroad?
Escrow services: natural option is ESCROW.COM, but do they offer an option for third party broker fees? I've had a look and can't see anything. Again, i've never concluded a deal via escrow, PAYPAL has been pretty much the limit of all my endeavours to date.
So, any suggestions as to how we can invoke a little more trust between ALL parties in a brokerage deal?
