How do you guys monitor your domain portfolio?

yes, i have been there, then I realized that the data is static in a spreadsheet, nothing is realtime. I've had nameserver changed without my permission, DNS changes to steal the traffic from my PPC landers so I built myself a solution. Open sourced it, if you are a little bit technically incliend you should be able to run it on your local pc, doesn't have realtime alerts but it's a better option than excel, IMO. Time consuming? LOL, what do you mean? After I have bought, listed and priced a domain name, there's nothing more to do for 12 months.

I hear you. This was my thought process in the early days, buy/change dns/collect $ from ppc/renew, what I did not anticipate was I had domains that people wanted but did not want to pay to buy them, so they tried to steal them, social engineering, DNS poisoning to steal traffic they've tried all there is under the sun to get my domains/traffic for free. Spreadsheet was the way to go and it would take me almost the whole day to make sure everything is in working order, heck Google sheets was god sent where I could hire couple of people remotely to monitor them manually on a daily basis. Write scripts and then run them, did that too. I believe that just like a home i needed to minitor my assets which made me revenues.

Everything can be updated and Refreshed with Macros + APIs

I try to keep all my domains at one main registrar (currently using Dynadot). This helps in managing the domains pretty much easily. Also, since I rarely drop any domains, I just had to select and renew them after years of reviewing each and every domain.

Wow we still have some serious Domainers, I think in long run big number of Domain holders eventually could go broke. I am afraid.

most of the replies seems to be about "Managing", my question was "Monitoring" how do you guys know if all your domains are pointing to where they should be? If you created landing page to parking or for sale DNS, are you sure the parking/landing page provider is not messing with your DNS and siphoning traffic? are you only relying on Registrar "lock" and email about record changes? or none of these issue matter to you?
