How do you figure out how much traffic a domain name gets ?

If your interested in a specific domain name, how do you figure out how much traffic a domain name gets ? and how do you know if the person is telling the truth ?

ask for screenshots of stats, check google, check overture, etc. also ask what their main source(s) of traffic are and use common sense.
