How do "normal" parking domains work anyway?

Do people actually get type in traffic?

If I type "cat" for example in my browser, I don't go to cat.com. I go to google search for cat

But that's search engine traffic. Not type in.

In fact, google don't rank parked page anymore. I did that by doorway and link building. Basically I tricked google to think that it's not a parked page but some domains with real content.

Didn't work well anymore.

So how does normal domains work? Can anyone show me?

Yes you go to G to search for that but not everyone Some people would just type cat.com and expect something related. If not, they try .net etc. And then they find out that there are search engines :O

I believe that's how the keyword based typein traffic works.

But why would anyone do that?

I never do that my self?

And one parking says that 90% of their traffic is generated that way. It doesn't make sense at all.

People still do! We always assume people know how things work.

I used to work in bank and I saw hundreds of people who don't know how to use an ATM machine. It doesn't help that the more mistakes they make the more transaction fees the bank makes.

One of the Way in Current years is...
Say, There is some good website about cats say MyCats(.)com ..
A Domainer buys Cats(.)com Or he may already owned that... So as time pass by and MyCats website gain popularity .. people start to type in..and end up coming to cats.... most of the time we dont remember exact name ...so either we type the easiest name and try our luck or search from google..

oh, like mystyped url. There is actual money in doing so? What's the ROI of such biz? 5 months? 6 months? 1 year?

Especially for different country? Does google pay them differently.
