How do I receive a domain transfer???

The ultimate noob question. I recently acquired an existing website and we are at the stage now where the domain needs to be transferred into my name. The seller game me an 'auth code' and told me they 'unlocked' the domain. I went to GoDaddy and paid $7 for them to transfer the domain to me, but GoDaddy never asked me for this code. Now the seller says they haven't received anything and I don't see anything in my GoDaddy account about this. What now? How do I get this domain in my name? His registrar is 1and1 if that matters.

Log ito Godaddy, go to "domains". Click on "transfer domains to godaddy". Enter the domain to be transferred and go to checkout. Select namesevers etc and press continue. Pay and your'e done! If you have any questions about the transfer call their Transfer Concierge service @ 1-480-505-8866
I would think the problem lies with 1&1 as they are the worst and slowest at completing transfers.

Thanks a lot for that, but it looks like I'm missing a step. I have to enter my code but can't figure out where that is done

Go into the domain manager, hold the cursor over the "Domains" tab then click on "pending transfers". This will list all pending transfers in your account, follow the instructions from there.
