well just kidding... seriously though, what might happen is that EPC could get lower over time to auto-compensate for a certain percentage of fraudulent clicks....

I don't think click fraud will destroy PPC, it will simply force companies to develop more sophisticated fraud detection and prevention techniques. I believe that PPC advertising will survive in exactly the same way that online shopping with the use of credit cards has - by staying one step ahead of the forces seeking to abuse the system.

No, it would mean the advertiser pays the site owner $500 for their ad to be on the website for one week.
