How can I build a database of login names and passwords?

I'm looking to start up a site and would like to charge people for subscriptions to my services, but I don't know how to get a Database up and running of login names and passwords after people have paid for the services.

Please help!

erm, it depends how secure you want to do it.

it would require php/mysql, and a fair bit of coding. search on google for a membership script or something.
