Article Marketing has become even more popular recently. I know from personal experience that This is an effective way to get your message to the general public. Here are some reasons to use article marketing.

- People will regognise you as a reputable author

- It can be used as an effective presell meathod for any product

- It is FREE!

Article sites like eZineArticles and others can rank well for keywords, so if you write an article targeting a good keyword for the topic your site covers than you can get search traffic to your article. At the end of your article is a place to put a link to your web site with a call to action such as: "for more information about <fill in the blank> visit the author's site at LINK"

If you write a good article and target good keywords, this can lead to highly targeted traffic clicking thru to your site.

Also, the better article sites already have traffic on them, people who hang out and read articles they think might be interesting, so you can gain some traffic from their existing pools too.

You can also submit your article postings to social bookmarking sites to gain more traffic to the articles and hopefully on to your site.

In addition, once your article is published you should have an author's RSS feed on the article site, which you can submit to RSS Directories, this creates links to your articles, which link to your web site...

In other words, a short, well written article can be a long stream of traffic and link juice that funnels down to your web site.

Of course, it takes lots of articles to produce lots of results, and using crappy articles or rewritten garbage from automation software will usually get you nowhere.

Like anything else, you will get out what you put into article marketing. Hope that helps.

There's a ton of article sites out there, a few that I use often are:

eZineArticles
GoArticles
SearchWarp
Content Caboodle
ArticleCity
ArticleBiz

Like I said, there's a lot more of them out there, these are just the first half dozen that I'll hit with articles and then I'll go find additional places to publish from there.

Another good spin on article marketing is to not just publish articles on article sites, but if you're writing articles anyway you may as well use some to create Web 2.0 pages with at places like Squidoo, HubPages, Scribd and so on.

There's some seo benefit to this, but more important to me is these are places where people already gather online, so it's an easy way to get your content and links in front of human eyeballs.

yes, that's a great point and i'm glad you brought that up. but i have to point out that the content you post on social bookmarking sites like digg must be original. i'm assuming you are talking about submitting articles from your blog that had adsense on it. they must be 100% unique or it will be flagged as spam.

peruse through similar articles in that category that has gotten the most diggs (or whatever). unless they are totally new with shock value, you are probably wasting your time. the good news is that i believe it's possible to cultivate those types of articles. the bad news is, i have yet to do it :p

I clearly said that you can submit your published articles to social bookmarking sites, and that's what I meant.

If I publish a quality article on eZineArticles then I bookmark it, if I publish a quality article at Content Caboodle then I bookmark it--and so on.

It's not about bookmarking pages from my own sites, but rather creating a little link and traffic buzz for my articles that will hopefully lead to click-thrus of the most targeted visitors to my site.

So, that's what I was talking about if I wasn't clear enough before. As for Digg, I don't even consider it a bookmarking site, but rather a social clique that's only really useful for people who are part of the "in crowd" there. If you don't have the right friends (or enough money) most submissions to digg are more than likely going to be a waste of time, that's just how it works there sadly.

Fortunately, other true bookmarking sites also have decent user bases and get attention from search engines, so are useful for anybody who just puts in the time to participate on them.

I have a good experience with article marketing. Since I started it a month back (posting in average 1 article per day) I get a significant traffic from it. Yes I submit all the articles to most of article directories mentioned above.

I think it's really depends on your target keywords, whether it's popular or not, also the competition, if it's not saturated then it'll work just fine.

Article writing is good way of generating traffic. Publish articles on your site and invite other sites to publish them on their sites, with a link to you.

This is true. We have noticed that alot of our traffic is being generated from Article Marketing.

This is really a huge way to help promote your site, you just have to make sure that your content is unique and that you don't post duplicate (content from somewhere else) article, and make sure that you are the owner of all your content.

If you have a blog and post your article on there first, it will create HUGE amounts of traffic and followers to your blog and site.
