Motivation is to brand the future term now , add an explanation for now and let go of it later on, instead of brand now and rebrand later when you are already an established company. That's what stands for many and im not talking about my own opinion here.

Yeah, I thought it was interesting when they quoted the rumor as saying "no later than 2019" (if I remember correctly). I'll look for the article later if no one can find it.

Those were posted 3 times in this thread over a week.
But it will be a year from now before we see real consumer products.
Of course Apple has there own way and timing.
If not then, CES 2019 will be the hinge for launching/introductions.
The AR display tech is not as far along as everyone would like to believe.
Not that it really is not there, just not quality/cost effective.
Admittedly, It had me buffaloed for a few years.

BTW.... I refer to it a WMR not MR.... LOL ...privately, I call it a pseudo-AR device

That's encouraging. Also shows how small the market is right now and the room for growth when you consider we're talking under 5 million a year compared with the 1.5 billion smartphones sold each year.

I think its smart to keep it as wide as you can, spread all over also in branding and not stick to limitations.
