As a fellow mancunian (like Len and Millars) I'm disgusted!!!!!!

Perhaps Shiraz could learn a thing or two from Broadway.TV

Yet another dot com defection. This is the worst news of the year for .TV. :'(

i dont think this is a permanent change, no way someone will kill such a domain after gaining recognition from it

I didn't notice it either. I'm sure we will know something on why and what happened.

I dont think the fact it resolves to : hollywoodtv.celebuzz.com is such awful news.
OK of course i would rather they just used Hollywood.tv but the fact is that they will still brand the site as 'www.Hollywood.tv' i am sure so that is what everyone will see on TV, magazines & other internet sites when one of their clips plays & a link is displayed.

Thats how i see it anyway, if he gave up the Hollywood.tv domain and started using a .com instead then it would be awful news. IMHO

WAKE up sheeraz. you could have been competing with tmz/perezhilton right now. Content is king, hollywood.tv has the content, but they continue to neglect the infrastructure.

I totally agree.
I really cannot work out why they dont get their own site up & running, seems such a waste to me. The actual outlay would be minimal & then Hollywood.tv could have a site that really does the domain & the video content justice unlike channelme or this latest site which are basic. IMHO

I can only imagine that there is some kind of grand plan with Hollywood.tv (must be far too complex for a wee drunk scotsman like myself)

i again want to write that there is no way someone will brand and own Hollywood.tv just to send it offline and promo a subdomain, this aint logical.
It should be something else behind.

Current.tv now resolves to current.com. Is that bad? They still use current.tv for email so I guess it's alright.

Anyone who thinks this is not terrible for .TV is only fooling themselves. Hollywood.TV was the most visible, public, nationally televised dot tv website on the Internet. Now it resolves to a .com. This is horrible and awful, it's "horri-awful"!

$#$# (< add 4-letter word here) Hollywood .TV. I still believe in this dot tv thing and will continue investing regardless.

If I'm going down, I'm going down swinging! :kickass:

Yes....so much and such power to make so little......

On the other hand why Sheeraz would bother to develop a new site ?
Hollywood.tv did work more than well although it was part of the ChannelME pot. The name speaks for itself and generates high traffic, Celebuzz at the crossroad of showbiz issues brings him additional audience.
What about a deal between him and Celebuzz for the hosting of his huge stuff when DM/ChannelMe can no longer offer it. Easy doing, without redesigning a new site he keeps the basic structure and layout of ChannelMe, brings a few very simple changes, adds celeb channels, to the main page, offers a bigger video player size (640x480) than the small previous one, what's more ? Yes, why to bother for a name that is, no matter what, running full speed ahead.

for some reason i did not like the name hollywood and tv together....
myself i dont like dot tv site i find them mainly full of 5-8 min clips and stay away from them...but you dont have to like what you sell my shop as told me this.....
hollywood.tv was bad for dot tv even if it stayed ,but going is even worst still

I guess i'm fooling myself then. ;)
If the Minister for .Tv thinks so then it must be true.

The reason i dont think it is so bad is that there site will still be known as 'Hollwood.tv' or 'www.Hollywood.tv' as i think it says on the right hand side of all their many celbrity videos.
I highly doubt they will change there logo to say 'http://hollywoodtv.celebuzz.com' on every video, that is what catches most peoples attention to make them visit the site.

So to the general public its still www.hollywood.tv, the brand name still is as strong and the url they type in hasnt changed, most users would noticed & couldnt care less where the site resolves. IMHO
They come to see Hollwood.tv as that is the brand name seen all over the world on celebrity videos, that has & will not change . IMHO

Current Tv is a totally different deal as they changed their site to Current.com rather than just the redirect, they changed all logo's & mentions of the site url to Current.com so to everyone that is their url.

Hollywood.tv is still known as Hollywood.tv (or www.Hollywood.tv) that hasnt changed at all.

if Hollwood.tv change their logo to 'www.hollywoodtv.celebuzz.com' or their site title, email addresses & more along the line of what current Tv done then i will agree that it is a bad sign & a major loss to .tv

does it matter it was never going to last the test of time anyway.
why would anybody spend ££££££ on a dot tv for the guy with the tv.com site just to sit there and get the traffic.
did he have the hollywoodtv.com iam at work now and i cant see?

The tv.com getting all the traffic is nonsense IMHO
tv.com's will get a tiny % of the traffic going to the .tv in my view & i have looked into this issue an awful lot with other members.

Hollywood.tv are very good at branding & NEVER make the mistake of just called it 'Hollywood Tv' so the user is left to decide if its .tv or tv.com
They ALWAYS use the full title of Hollywood.tv (with the DOT pronounced) so any user that mistakes that for Hollywoodtv.com has serious issues.

And what do you mean with "does it matter it was never going to last the test of time anyway."

His site is doing great, getting massive traffic & incredible media attention.
Why wouldnt it last??????

He is NOT dropping Hollywood.tv, it is all still going well as far as anyone can tell.
All that happened is not the site resolves to a different address since they moved from Channelme.
