As reported on Dottvnation.tv

I received an email today from Jason Samose, Business Development for Demand Media. He stated Sheeraz has decided to "partner" with Demand Media and use the ChannelMe.tv platform.

Are we all partnering with Demand Media when we use ChannelMe.tv ? I am not sure did not know I was a partner or maybe he getting a special deal.

Interesting that such a high profile domain would use a basic platform like Channel Me.tv. Again IMO

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Why on earth would he do that?

What a retard.

Sheeraz just had lunch with Richard.

Watch www.dallas.tv and www.national.tv, two additional lunch invitees to see if they leverage the ChannelMe.tv platform.

I can't believe anyone would that has any significant kind of existing site. My god, Richard must be just doling out cash to get people to do this.

Especially Hollywood.tv. The only reason I can think is that Hollywood.tv was starting to see significant bandwidth costs and Richard offered up free hosting. Even then.......

There must have been some cash in the deal for Sheeraz. Sounds like the big fish is starting to nibble......

Sounds more like Demand is getting a little desperate and needs help of bigger fish to make themselves know and their investment worthwhile.

That is MY opinion only.

I think the platform doesnt matter. just the content. So if they have good videos and could type some blogs, its good enough for a video site.

I disagree 100 % I would think with real development you could do a lot better than Channel Me.tv

Me.TV is the equivelent of a parked car that has run out of gas, has a leaking radiator, no spark plug, no tread on its wheels and smells like a lemon.

I mean no disrespect, but I am sure I could have got a team together to produce a better platform in half the time at probably half the cost.

Sure by 2010 Me.Tv may reach half way towards its potential, but as dot tv investors/and especially developers, I would steer clear of Me.TV as much as I can. If the general public ever start to associate .TV with Me.TV, then the shit starts hitting the fan big time

Perhaps it has something to do with DM's "new" focus:
http://demandmedia.com/news-dm-110807.asp
Demand Media has already snapped up dozens of startups like ExpertVillage.com, HillClimb Media, Answerbag.com, eHow.com, Airliners.net and more.

or...

Perhaps it has something to do with rival NameMedia filing an IPO and DM wanting to do the same and building/beefing up their "network"

or...

perhaps they simply made him an offer he can't refuse. ? Anything is possible. Maybe funding? Support? Customization? Traffic? Incentives? Pre-IPO shares of DM?

or...

doesn't matter because we'll never know. But what we do know is that the guy behind Hollywood.TV is no dummy, and he is/was already using Me.TV for his other property: Sports.TV, so it makes sense that he'd explore all his options including Partnering with DM. I know I am entertaining the idea of moving some of my high-profile .TVs over to Me.TV (even though we already have our own platform). I'm just looking for a win/win deal.

Talk about hitting the Nail on the Head!

NO S!!!, you are sooo right about this.

Our only hope is that the me.tv platform continues to get
built out with kick ass functionality and performance.

No plans to use the platform for any major development in its current form. At least for me there was nothing said at lunch re the channelme.tv platform that is any different from what is available publicly.

The Demand Media guys also had a very realistic idea of what the channelme platform is capable of today and, generally, it is a consumer product. That might change over time and they asked for feedback and they will be constantly be improving it but honestly I think you guys are reading a lot of stuff into nothing at all.

I can't speak for Sheeraz, but his channelme.tv site looks like the standard site. There is also not that much traffic there right now (channel views 30,000) so I am not sure that there would be any special, magical ad-sharing deals.

I have no doubt that someone will figure out a way to have a highly trafficked site on channelme.tv but the platform is not a web development platform for deep vertical sites and I don't think it pretends to be.

I just wanted to say that I think your election.tv looks awesome, so im glad you are not thinking of moving it to channel me.

I think election.tv is one of the best designed sites I have seen developed as far as sites developed by users on this forum.

Perhaps the use of Hollywood.tv is a prelude to more celebrities joining me.tv...

it doesnt seem like the direction makes sense- before you go and bring on bigger fish, which is a GOOD idea for every other channel, you need a better product to keep them there- hollywood is a cookie cutter now and i think they are hoping by saying, hey, if it is good enough for hollywood.......

but, that isnt the case
