I think this was picked up via business.com

Title: Forget.com, .TV could soon be your domain

http://www.azcentral.com/abgnews/articles/1213abg-kehrer1213.html

Ket quote in article
IMO Fiction? Time warp? Nope, it's real, and it's here now at ChannelMe.tv, a potential-laden corner of the Web called .TV. But even parent company Demand Media, which so far has pitched it mainly to individuals, hasn't (yet) grasped the power its new platform could have for small business.

Expect many more articles like this and the publicity to get bigger amongst the non domaining world. A key step in taking us all to the next level. An equally big step will be the business community seeing and realizing the value of the extension.

To these people, premium fees are nothing more then a very small coast of doing business and if the branding potential is there they will jump in IMO.

Good to see this was pitched at businesses. I like the explanation about the me.tv tools and what can be achieved with even the most basic computer knowledge. Nice find Poodleman, thanks for sharing!

The editor of that article is Daniel Kehrer is editor of Business.com, so hmmmm why won't they buy Business.tv, he raves about the extension enough?

Good article, thanks.

I guess when you have Business.com you really don't need anything else. I also do not know if I would call AzCentral a "Major Publication" Barrons,WSJ,Forbes,Fortune,Economist, Time,Investors Business Daily sure but AzCentral ? NO not IMO. But it was a nice plug felt like an advertisement for Channel ME. Again IMO

Check the price tag of business.tv

To be sure equity, NOT a major, but a step on the rung of the media ladder never hurts, either.

I know the Annual renewal fee and it is listed as available - just was asking why you thought it was not for sale.

In time, Business.tv will be taken up - an upfront price will be negotiated and a different annual renewal fee will be in place. Just as what apparently has happened with News.tv.

Three months ago many members (most if not all members?) of this forum would have thought that no way known would News.tv be regged, but a deal happened and it has been.

I would doubt Business.tv would go to a domainer or investor (although the recently reported high mobi sales at Sedo to an investor would put pay to that), but it will go to an end user at what ever price is eventually negotiated.

I mentioned in a post some months ago that the annual rental of well placed Billboards in the city where I live (3.5m people) has an annual rental of $150-180K and they are never vacant.

Put in that perspective, an end user paying whatever annual fee for a top key generic .tv that reaches out to the whole world is peanuts IMO.

Nice find Brian... and Heroes - I agree with you... someone will nab business.tv for a deal much like news.tv -- its just a matter of time.

I also do not know if I would call AzCentral a "Major Publication"

This is the web site for "The Arizona Republic" owned by Gannet one the biggest media companies in the World.

Today our corporation operates:
The Arizona Republic, one of the fastest-growing major metropolitan newspapers in the country, ranks among the top 20 newspapers in daily circulation. The Republic is the state's largest newspaper, reaching approximately 1.5 million readers per week.
azcentral.com, Arizona's most active Web site, where users can find breaking news, job listings, real estate, travel, automotive, entertainment and local community information.
The Arizona Business Gazette, a weekly business publication.
Integrated marketing services, a group that helps advertisers fine-tune their media buys and services them on everything from email to direct mail.
Republic Real Estate and Republic Rentals, multimedia products that help consumers find housing through the newspaper, specialty publications, and the Internet.
A custom publishing division that produces niche magazines and other publications.
The Arizona Republic is owned by Gannett Co., Inc., a publicly held news and information company that operates newspapers and television stations across the U.S. Other Gannett holdings in Arizona include KPNX Channel 12 in Phoenix and the Tucson Citizen.

Exactly and a publication for one state is not a major publication IMO as I stated IMO and I am well aware who Gannet is I was trading the stock when I was 21. So again if you consider them to be a major publication that is your opinion. I do not agree with that opinion that's all.

I agree, nice to see it pitched as a business opportunity rather than a myspace competitor. Regardless of the size of the publication, this is the angle that we want to see. We do not want to hook ( sell to ) big fish in a small pond: we want to hook whales ( big business ) in the ocean.

One of the better ways to pitch this is that location matters. Companies that perhaps want to post videos in a professional environment, perhaps cringe at the idea of creating a myspace page, where there is a distinct juvenile focus.
