domain Hi from new member and question...

I have been designing sites and working online since 1999, but I've not researched domain name values until now, so I know next to nothing about the subject yet. Newbie question: Does the age of the domain affect it's value, and if so, how much? I know that Google rank is affected by domain age, so it seems it might affect the value?
