I was just checking thru domains in my spare time today and came across Gamedayinfo that it was showing all the extensions taken except .com and .biz---so I naturally thought this could be good if I got the .com---I typed in all of them and they all went to 1and1 park page---so of course I figured it was the same person had them all---so I rushed to Godaddy and typed it in and it was already showing not available---I checked the whois and they were registered today :)

Just thought I would share that with you :hehe:

Yes, people are fast. I once had a nice unregistered list of .com domains that would be nice sellers that I didn't share with anyone, it wasn't more than two months ago. I did a whois "check-up" on them a couple weeks ago and found out they were all gone.

My rule is:

"If the others are taken, so is .com"

But there are cases in which this is not true, but its more and more of a rarity each day.

I'd have to agree with you that one stscac. Usually people will register other extensions if the .com domain extension is already taken for that name/keyword.

scanning through the dmoz/yahoo directories could lead to unearthing a few more cases such as this one.....

I just found it funny that they were registered yesterday maybe as I was looking at it or maybe the site I was looking on had just not picked up the .com version yet---because you would think that he would have registered them all at the same time---who knows :)

when the other extensions were registered, the .com must have not been available at that time.

The same old whois delay problem, sometimes a domain is registered for a long time but it shows up as unregistered! Happened to me a few times!

What may have also happened is someone saw it on a recent domain search board. I've seen a few of those recently too.
