Help with Google AdWords/Keyword Planner

So I want to sign up for an AdWords account so I can use the Keyword Planner tool. But when I'm signing up, Google is asking me make an ad, set a budget for my ad campaign, and then give them my payment info. But I don't want to advertise... I just want to use the Keyword Planner.

Can someone shed some light on this? Is there some option to skip this step, or do I just provide all my payment info and then select some option afterwards that says I don't want to advertise yet?

Hey Joe,

You just have to go through the process they will take your info but you do not have to advertise or anything. Then you can get access to the tool. Just search Google Keyword Planner on Google and the direct link should come up.

Just avoid filling that payment info. Directly go to the tools section and look for keyword planner.
