There is a search term I'm interested in, it's three keywords. If I were to purchase the .com, it would be 17 letters.
Depending on where I look, I see a decent amount of activity on those three keywords as a search query. 4mil to 8mil from this tool: web2 Check Traffic - Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 11:40:54
Estibot and Valuate say it's like a $320 domain.
Is this something I should go after, and put up a little mini-site? Or what do you all think? Websites in the niche aren't setting the world on fire, 20k to 100k or so monthly visitors, not a TON of competition, but some real huge spikes in traffic based on specific events that happen around the world and seems to be a steady trickle of traffic I might be able to rank well for, based on the search query and my domain corresponding.
Actually, as an example too. I see a bunch of activity for the search query 'recent fights,' but significantly less for 'recent fight.' Now recentfights.com is taken but it's a spammy site and doesn't even show up in results, and I can get recentfight.com and add relevant content - will I still show up for people who are searching that more common 'recent fights' as 'recentfight.com'? (Not the real names, trying to show my situation with the singular/plural thing...) And if they're searching for a term that is my domain name, and I have relevant content...well how high will I be in the results?
Advice, please. I feel like I should just reg it, but I always shoot from the hip, and my fiancee gets pissed, haha. THANK YOU.
