Help regarding domain legalities.

Here's the scenario.

I registered a domain of a company. THe company and the term I registered is NOT trademarked.

They've contacted me threatening to sue me due to registering their name which I've been using to direct traffic to my own site.

I had no idea that this company name existed prior to reging the domain name.

SO, do they have a case? If not, please point me to the documentation for Canadian Domain Laws.

Are you in direct competition with that company? IE - same products / services? Is the term generic? Lots of questions, little information.

We were. The domain was originally bought to promote our products which are based in the same city, but due to current legalities, I couldn't forward the traffic to our actual business site.

Basically, the domain is setup as CITY_PRODUCT-WE-SELL.com

It just so happens someone setup a company using that term after we had our business established.
