Help me understand GoDaddy auction timeline

When does an expired domain goes into GoDaddy action? Is it something like this?

  • Domain expires
  • Grace period starts where original user can still renew domain without extra cost
  • After grace period ends, redemption period starts where original user can still renew domain after paying extra cost
  • After redemption period ends, auction starts
  • If no bids in auction then it goes into close outs
  • If no one buys in close out then domain is deleted and goes back to registry

But problem is I have seen some domains which were in auction, and after no one bid and auction ended, they went into redemption period. This doesn't make any sense. For e.g. samayhospital.com status is being shown as "on-hold (redemption period)" but a few days ago this domain was in auction.

Godaddy BIN price were timeframed, first they offer 12$ BIN for 12 or 24 hours if no one GD will lower it to 11$ or 10$ for another 12 or 24 hours and so on up till 5$ BIN price after that it will be deleted

I know I have normally seen this after the auction (called close outs) where BIN decreases everyday. But the question is, does domain go into auction BEFORE redemption period or AFTER it.

What about winning an auction and not seeing the domain in your domain list?

That probably happens because domain is still within the period where original user renews it so you dont get the domain.
