Okay guys, I'm sorry if my yelling for help made your ears to ring :xf.smile: Thanks for responding.

There are tons of information on this forum - incredible!

I'm not sure if its my enthusiasm to comb through as much info as I can within this short time (3 days) I've been here..

BUT....

I'm having information overload.

Did you experience this on this forum?
How did you deal with it?
What suggestions or advice will you give a newbie?

I know everyone is different. SO... I intend to take all the suggestions you amazing guys will give and customize it to my current need. I'm sure other newbies like me will benefit from this.

Thank You!
Sam :xf.smile:

Welcome to the party! :xf.cool:

Domaining is HUUUGE... wide range of choices... registering, dropcatching, aftermarket buying domains... managing inventory... stats... landers... monetizing... promoting your domains for sale... outbound marketing....O_o

Take it easy. It takes time. And it's worth the time you put into it :xf.grin:

when you finish learning all the info, make a short summary/manual and post it here!
it will be good for others to read the most important things from the forum in one short essae

Just relax and take your time. There's a saying "Rome was not built in a day". So, take your time. Happy Domaining. :)

Yep, I had the same feeling at first. It took me months to digest the information properly.

Most ppl quit after a few months when they see that it's not easy.

You've been a member for a few days only. Pretty normal you are still processing knowledge.

Start small

Make reachable goals like selling your first domain next month.

Learn enough to ask "smart questions".

Ask questions/advice (I've been around since 2003. I'm no one special, but I know a thing or two. Feel free to PM if you have a question you can't find a good answer for)

Welcome aboard!

EDIT: P.S

All that glitters is NOT gold.

Hi

the info can be overwhelming, for sure

but in your first 6 months to a year:

i say write down all the questions you have

then use the forums' search feature to find threads relating to those questions.

keep in mind, that no question is too dumb.... but some answers are.

don't assume anything, just because

don't believe, if you can't verify

also, newbies are fair game, so be careful about buying any subscriptions, software, scripts or services.

Good Luck!

Patience - Rome was not built in a day. Bookmark the threads you've found useful so that you can refer back to them. Learn to differentiate between threads that are "attack mode" or "going in circle" threads and those that are actually provide true knowledge, thus empowering you.

Hello!

Take your time.
Read into and about the niches (exact match domains, brandables, chinese market, new gTLD, etc).
Read the best and most popular contributors.
Read about the success stories, but also (and specially) about what didn't work.

I can tell you at least (!) these are important because I tried myself a few shortcuts around these with no success! :)

Best regards!

hahah...... @Samuel McEdwards - You might have been around for only 3 days but I have this sneaky suspicion that you spent almost 3 full days poking around the forum soaking up as much info as you could... hmm wonder why you have information overload - Am I wrong?

Dont be eager to consume all at once, for every stage you are and need 'expert's opinion'. Use the search and you come up with different threads, read through them and come out with the truth. As read, take note of the usernames and follow the 'authority'

Plan your schedule. Write down the must do for that day and deal with them first.

Once done, use the rest of time to surf away and get more info from NP

Dont attempt to do everything at a time, u may get nowhere. Save new info on your system or mobile, or get a notebook if you are archaic like me.

Good luck
