Help, I really messed up this time

Help,

I bought a domain with traffic on it. Now I don't know a THING about this stuff, I just got caught up in it. I started a thread to get an apprasal on it, but I'm sure I overpaid. (not telling how much of a nut I am)

Anyway I need to utilize this traffi, but haven't a clue how to start, or sell it, or what the heck to do with it !

Any constructive help is greatly appreciated !

Kinda hard to help w/o specifics but if it's actually getting traffic and you have no plans to develop, it'd be better parked for the time being. Not many will maintain a decent traffic flow w/o development tho.

You'll likely need a webhost to setup your forum and such. Sounds like a cool name to start a forum for sure or get a backup restored if the previous owner gave you a site

I think I am panicking so much I didn't even type in the domain name right !

It's OVERCLOCKEDCAFE.com, not overclockerscafe.com. My domain, I think, has more traffic and links to it than that one. Can someone help me and tell me more about it? Ricky G, or someone, what do you do to get a PR number?

I looked it up on Alexa and it says traffic rank is 1,396,378. But that doesn't mean it's getting hits, right? It's got related links and sites linking in. That's good, yes?

Oh, woe is stupid, stupid me! I guess I just got so tired of reading and reading and not going anywhere .... I just want to DO something, get on line and make a little money, something ! Well, now I did it, that's for sure! Ok one paragraph of whining is enough

What else can I check to see if this thing will make me any money? What should I do, any / all comments are most welcome. Parking? I just figured that out. APocComputing has gratiously offered to help me make a forum (which is what it was before, if you look it up on www.archive.org) what do you all think about that as a revenue generator?

PR = Page Rank. not exactly sure what it is, but i know that they are on a scale from 0-10 and the higher the better. Parking i am not bery familiar with, but i would guess you could earn a decent amount if this site has links to it. Adsense or YPN(Yahoo publisher network) would probably be the best for generating revenue on forums and you could also make a banner system like the one that NamePros uses on the top right of the page. reguardless which route you decide to take, i wish you good luck and hope you make back the money you spent on the domain, and hopefully beat it by a good sum. (if you want, we can talk on AIM if you have it.)

Thank you very much for your help. Steve mentioned using VBulletin for the forum, so I'm looking into that now. I will do something with this so please bear with me while I figure it out. Sounds great to set up the ads. I just installed the AIM last night so I will pm or talk to Steve again to confirm what's what.

It sounds like the domain would be a great place for wal-mart employees to convene to chat about how they are being screwed (ie working overtime and not getting paid for it). :td:
