Help! GoDaddy - AH!

I just realized a domain is deleting tomorrow. I had used that privacy thing on Godaddy a year ago. I don't want in anymore, and when I go to renew my name - it automatically includes the dumb little privacy thing for an extra $9.00. I don't want it and at the same time - I can't get rid of it. What do I do?

Do you need to renew with GoDaddy? Just renewing the name elsewhere would seem the most logical solution?

It's in my GD account, and I dont think I can push it over (plus I dont know if that costs extra or not :S). If my "AutoRenew" is on, does that mean it will renew it automatically tomorrow?

i hate godaddy's specials and crap before checking out. It is probably killing sales instaed of helping them

Yep, I just signed up with GD yesterday, and there is alot you have to do just to get a domain pushed to you. My first impression is that it's not the most intuitive interface, and the site was slow-loading. I still prefer Namecheap by quite a bit.

Namecheap is alright. I still stay with Godaddy and emon just because I''m already there.

if it says auto-renew on then yes it will renew automatically, you may be able to take auto-renew off of private registration only if it is listed as a seperate thing in control panel, best thing to do is call their customer support line, don't wait for email response if this is something you need help with today

Well, it ended up I had to login to my DomainsByProxy account and take it off the domain in order not to pay for it again. I thought I would post this in case any of you ever go through this. If you lose your DomainsByProxy you have to send them a fax verifying your email.
