Hey
I am trying to renew my domain name ApkaFuture.com
I had the privacy thing before but i dont want it anymore, when i try renewing the domain, it automatically adds the 1 year privacy and makes it 18.95$
Can anyone help me out with this?

And can you tell me if there are any promo codes left?

I'm not sure if this will work because I've never had domains with privact there, but when you go to your domains list there's an option to add privacy right under the words "Active - Public" (probably "Active - Private" for you). Its possible that this link to changes to remove privacy when the domain is private, so it won't force you to renew.

I am guess that you are renewing for 2 years, not 1 and that is why your total is so high.

I believe the code renew5 gets you 10% off.

Call them and let them know you do not want the privacy anymore for that domain name and just want to renew the name itself.

On that thread I linked above, I believe there is a code for 30% off non-domain products that still works.

You should be able to uncheck the box since it is a separate purchase. The check out does try to upsell you.

Call them and let them know you do not want the privacy anymore for that domain name and just want to renew the name itself.

thats excatly what you have to do if you reside in the us, or have someone there call them. though, a thread i read shows their support is not always that helpful, but thats what you can try.

I am not too impressed with any place that would default your purchase to 2-years instead of one year registration.They are just praying on the fact that every once in a while someone will not be paying attention and register at the higher price by mistake.
This is a sign of bad business principles IMO.Add that to the fact that the default is to sign up for other purchase add-ons.

To remove privacy, you have to call customer support.
No way to remove it from checkout, as they are inexplicably linked somehow...
(Assuming it's on a "renewal" not a new registration).
Goofy, but it's the only way I was able to before.
