I'd like to see a section for "make offer" domains for sale. The Sales section is so cluttered with people that don't have a firm price on their domain and just have it open to offers. Perhaps the sellers can post their "offer" domains for sale in the Auction section.

It's just a waste of time when I'm trying to go buy names in the Fixed Price section and see that a boatload of threads are made for "taking offers". It would cut down on search time and help facilitate more sales IMO.

Any thoughts?

I agree, it would probably be effective to have a subforum inside Fixed Price Domains to keep the board looking the same.

thats a great idea, so many have no idea what they actually want

I think it's worth considering. Perhaps just make it a subforum in the main sales forum.

Do any of the admin have some thoughts on this as well?

"Domains For Sale / Offers" is already the name of one section .... I see no problem with the two being intermingled. If someone says "Make an offer" , There is always a set amount people will offer as a max price for each domain anyways .... It depends on the Buyer. Unless they give a range , They should not be offended by "LowBall" offers though ;)

Agree. There isn't a need for a new sub forum.

I really like this idea. I think it would be more organized and alot better for that category.

Basically we'd have three Domains For Sale forums then? 1) Fixed Price 2) Make Offer 3) Auctions. It could work. I'm interested in hearing more opinions on this.

I like it and it would keep things more organized.

If you can handle the moderating aspect of it then I agree it's a good idea.

I know a few other forums that did a similar thing. No one read the stickied threads about the new forum and just carried on posting in the old section.

If you can find a way to notify everybody (bearing in mind stickied/announcement threads won't work most of the time) or have plenty of mods ready to move threads to the correct section then it'll be a good idea.

As a buyer/seller, I'm not opposed to the idea of 3 main Domain Sales areas, those being:

- Fixed Price.
- Make Offers.
- Auction.

That might work. It might be nice. :gl:

However, as a person moderating that section, my immediate concerns are ...

A) Keeping people from making 'offers' in the fixed price section.

B) Many people post "$500 BIN or best offer". Which section does that go in? D-:

I was hoping you'd weigh in on this one, -db-. If there was a "Make Offers" forum, I expect the traffic and exposure to threads there would be less than the fixed price forum. This could encourage more sellers to put asking prices on their domains, which would be a good thing. I share your moderation concerns.

Two things possibly, 1) We could have a notice on the newthread page that reminds people a listing price is required. 2) Delete threads that don't have a list price.

B) Many people post "$500 BIN or best offer". Which section does that go in?

The BIN price would qualify it for Fixed Price imho.

Interesting...

And, it would be nice to have things broken down the extra step, for buyers and sellers.

Hmmmm ok, I'm definitely not against this idea. It might be cool. B-)

Give me a couple hours though... I will find a reason it's doomed for failure. :guilty:
