I just received an e-mail which I think is a scam, but I don't remember where did I read something similar.

Have you received an e-mail like this?

If it's a scam, what's the intention of such a email?

Hello,

I found the name in the subject line listed in auction. Please email me your price in US dollars or euros.

Domain names is not my main business. Just another way to make money online on domain reselling. Our company develops software in databases in Delphi and MS Access.

If you offer more domains for sale with good reselling potential please email us your list.

Looking forward to do business with you.

Have not received an email like that but it sounds like and looks like a complete scam to me.

It's the same old appraisal scam.
You reply with a price, and he asks you to pay for an (overpriced) appraisal of the name at a website of which he is the owner. Once you've paid for it, you'll never hear from him again.

Thanks for your contributions.
I answered this to him (yes, I had a little of free time):

Code:
Ok.

The price I'm seeking is 99,999 million dollars only: no less, no more; not negotiable and no appraisal needed from any company you work for or trust.

I repeat: I'M NOT GOING TO APPRAISE MY DOMAIN FOR YOU.

  Thanks for your interest.

Always gives it away for me.
So obvious that they mass mail this with the software changing the subject to match domain name to email.

I know I sound like a broken record, but put the "signee's" name high in the text of your posts so that when some poor sap that doesn't know better gets one of these scams, their Google result will lead them to a "It's a scam" thread so they don't get taken in.

I seriously hope he/them/they DIES.

I hate to be so callous, but people like him/they/them are scum of the earth.
