Hi,
I have serious issue with one of my domain, looking for a help from you guyz!
:td:
Here's the story, I have a domain registered with Godaddy but hosted with iPage hosting. Website was up and running smoothly! I wanted to transfer that domain from Godaddy to Netfirms, when I try to add that domain it gave me an error telling that domain already in my Netfirms account. But there wasn't any domain in my Netfirms account. Then I contacted the Netfirms support, they asked the name of domain and added to my Netfirms account.
Now I have that domain in my Netfirms account but it disappeared from my iPage hosting account, My Wordpress site is down (just showing under construction page)

What I wanted to do is just transfer my domain from Godaddy to Netfirms but keeping the iPage hosting.

My questions, how Netfirms support team accessed my iPage account/ Or How Netfirms activities effected my iPage hosting account?

Now iPage hosting account doesn't allow me to add that domain, telling I have that domain already in iPage hosting. I don't understand this ! :(

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Looks like the mapping for your nameservers was lost during the transfer process.

When you are at your Netfirms account, select the domain that has an issue. Then click "DNS" button. Then set the parameters to the "host" and "points to". Say:

"host", type "ns1"
"points to" type "ip address"

Ask for the IP address of the nameservers used by your domain from your webhosting provider. They will give it to you.

Then going back to your Netfirms account, click the "Nameservers" button. Select "Use different name servers". Then type your own domain name servers under Nameserver 1 and Nameserver 2. Example:

"ns1.occupywallstreet.net"
"ns2.occupywallstreet.net"

That's it. Then wait a few minutes to about an hour for the changes to take effect.

Problem solved!

Guyz please take a note about this. Netfirms told iPage is their sister company, so someone of support staff has removed it from my iPage hosting account and added it to Netfirms account. This is illegal, who knows they're sister companies. :(

I think it is very foolish to be transferring away from GoDaddy to NetFirms, especially since IPage is a sister company of NetFirms. Always separate your domain registration and your web hosting. If I were you, I would transfer your domain out of NetFirms at the earliest opportunity, and then do what alien51 suggests.
