Do it pretty much everyday. Ive sold domains for 300% ROI within an hour before;)

About a year ago I bought a domain for $15 and then afterwards starting kicking myself for wasting my money. Funny thing is less than 6 hours later got an email from an interested buyer, and within another few hours had it sold for $900... It was a recently expired domain. Quite the experience, needless to say I wasn't kicking myself after that and it just proves to me and hopefully everyone you have to follow your gut sometimes..... I saw the name and my first reaction was to grab it right away and despite my "buyers remorse" it was the right decision....

Honestly, networking is your bestfriend in domaining. Whenever you sell a domain or buy a domain from someone ask them if you can write their email down and contact them when you have some domains to sell. More than likely 90% of the time people will say yes. Now imagine if you did that 100 times. You will have 90 customers that has a good taste in their mouth about your last sale and would be happy to REGULAR business with you. Makes more sense than most people can comprehend in this industry.

done it a few times- didnt work with that thread tho! sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt- i usually pick up drops- and i often throw them right out when i get them-
and a few times i have sold them at a nice profit instantly-
i have had people ask- you just regged it, how in the world can you ask that amount for the name???
i just say pishaw- you answered the post cuz you were attracted to the name, and you have a whole year left on the reg- its a solid name- and i got it, and you missed it- take it or not- and more often then not, they have taken it-
so, sometimes it works- sometimes not :)

Nice thread! How do you handle the transfers with 24hr flips? Are people happy to wait 2 months to get their name? Do you ask for a deposit or full payment?
I'm fudging my way through this situation at the mo - it'd be great to know some quick flip etiquette

;)

Do a PUSH not a TRANSFER. Transfers take to long in quick flip situations and more than often people already have an account at a big registar. Also if they dont have an account at a registar the domain is regged at they will more than likely be happy to make one for free if they really like the name. You ALWAYS ask for your payment up front in FULL. If not you could get screwed. Dont be afraid to drop a deal if the person is not willing to pay up front. Honestly if they dont pay up front they would be considered "sketchy" in my book.

Ive even sold a domain before I owned it. That in itself was risky - but paid off quite nicely. Its always nice to know you've made money before you've even spent it.

I bought a dropped domain last week. Highly targeted domain, with a developed .net under it that I sold for $500 in a private sale. Bought for $8.

My pointer for everyone is that you don't need to own investing.com to get a sale. Even the most highly target things have end users. Honestly, with fewer more targeted end users it is much easier to find a buyer from my experience.

I grab a lot of dropping domains with snap when they are $9. I get most of my quick flips with those domains as motivated buyers are just waiting to see if it drops and a lot of people do not know about snap/pool etc. So once they see someone else grabbed it they are quick to make an offer.
