I have commented multiple times that the world of hand-regging .tv has gotten much harder than a year ago. (Also, as mentioned before, RogueWriter is a league of his own at this...)

Still, once in a while, there are still jewels to be found.

I just hand-regged (non-premium), NYCity.tv

While this is not the best name in the world, it is clearly worth $30/year and I think has to be the best hand-reg I have had in months.

This is not to brag, just a reminder to the group that life is not quite finished for us yet, though the gates are closing in daily...and there is not yet a need to be regging 4th tier names

I have got Hardrock.tv at standard fee, surprised it wasn't a premium and not already taken, as far as I know never registered before. I do not know whether Hardrock is a jewel but at least a unique gem.

You're right Argos, a few diamonds in the rough out there.

One of the things that excites me about .tv though is just how hard it is getting to find those diamonds.

I regged my first .tv in Jan 06 and there were definitely better names available then. Even 2nd rate .tv's seem to be selling fast now. I would love to see the uptake stats for the TLD as a whole. I believe that there has been a real spike in the last few months.

The selfish side of me personally loves it when i see names like ejewelley.tv etc. It's a sign that this TLD has achieved a certain degree of market saturation that is truly reserved for the extensions that have or will make it.

The technology seems to have caught up (i.e convergence of tv and internet) and this has led to a greater number of people seeing the worth of .tv.

.tv still needs marketed though - it is relatively unknown in the southern hemisphere and America. .TV will not truely challenge the "Nathan Sassover" "NewYorkCityTV.com" style domains until .tv becomes more widely used in traditional US media. But when (not if) it does I know which one I would pick in a head to head in the long run and I bet Saatchi & Saatchi would agree with me.

p.s you might want to email the owner of the .com to better secure your investment- see the parking page
