I just submitted around 5 domains to Greatdomains
They rejected 4 of mine, and agreed to list one of mine at low $xx,xxx
Is this actually a good sign that the domain I listed is actually worth something good? It's a .org by the way :)

Thanks~

Although some may disagree, I see this as being a good sign. They are selective about what they accept, and although there are a few names listed there, that may appear to be questionable or dubious choices on their part, overall, the quality of names at GD, is high.

Coincidentally, I also had 2 .org names accepted there yesterday. I have had a dozen or so names listed w/ them, but have not had any success w/ a sale, thus far. But, listing w/ them can't hurt. You are still able to park or put up a site, and meanwhile, your name is gaining exposure. And who knows, maybe your name will sell and you'll have a nice payday, somewhere down the line.

could I just ask which domain was accepted? i have submitted many domains and all have been rejected, in my opinion many have been of a higher standard than some of the ones there. But then, thats probably just me.

I believe that it is a good sign, if it is .com, .net, .org. If it is .cc and .tv, then it doesn't really mean much...

My names that were just accepted, (but won't show up for 7-10 das), were ypp.org, (assoc w/ young people) and xrd.org (assoc w/ x-ray tech)

in my opinion many have been of a higher standard than some of the ones there. But then, thats probably just me.
It's not just you. I have sent them small lists of names, and even from within my own lists, I have been suprised by what they have accepted and what they left behind. I do know that they will experiment w/ a new name category, from time to time, which is one reason for the apparant discrepencies.

Thanks all for the replies!
The only name that they accepted out of my list was iChina.org, and they suggested I list it for $15,000. To me I don't think it's the best domain on the ones I've submitted but they declined all of them, even a 3 letter .com I was submitting for a friend :(

I haven't visited there for a while .... and after doing so - Man !

I wouldn't even think of registering Some of those domains .... I saw a typo .com listed that doesn't even get Typed in .... I checked several sources and languages (Obvious English Typo) ??? The english / US version of Ovt only shows 4 searches a day for the "word" ...... no Extension at all ~

Just Dunno ....

it is a good sign that some guy who works for verisign likes one of your names, I wouldn't assume whoever accepts/rejects neccessarily has alot of knowledge.

I firmly believe that they have very little knowledge of domains at NotSoGreatDomains.com but any exposure for names is worthwhile.

Good luck

Does anybody have any successful sales on greatdomains.com?
I also tried to list one time but got rejected.

Much easier to look good at picking winners, when all that you will evaluate and list are single word .com's- before the well dried up and before it was mandated by the higher ups, that .cc names were to be given preference, no?
I shouldn't complain- I do have one .cc name listed w/ them.
