GoogleWallet.com

What would happen if I registered GoogleWallet.com before Google announced the Google Wallet, could they come after me for the site if they didn’t like it or wanted it for their own and how strong a case would they have to take the domain from me?

I think this is a dangerous question because Google is a registered trademark and just adding Wallet to it doesn’t really change that, I would like to know what other NameProers thoughts are on this TM issue.

Since part of the domain contains their registered TM, I wouldn't bother.

Funny this thread came up,I registered walletgoGGle.com last night.Assuming they use wallet.google.com just like maps.google.com and labs.google.com,I think it should get traffic since:
mapsgoggle.com =461 OVT with ext,gmailgoggle.com=49 OVT with ext

Technically, unless they see you as posing a threat to them in some way or another, they should just leave you and your domain alone

hope they leave me alone...lol, dont think the chick with GoogleWallet.com will have the same fate though imo...should be fun to track in the legal forum soon, maybe she'll come to namepros asking advice and we WONT point her to jberryhill on this one!

I am the WEBMASTER of googleforums.org and google hasn't come after me yet, and there are pleanty of other websites that contain the name google. I should think that you will be ok
