If I want to search Google (or a website with Google Search) for a certain term that may be imbedded in a longer word, how do I do that?

For instance, I want to return all results containing "bird", even if it's hummingbird or birdseed. Google Search seems to only return the term by itself, i.e. "bird".

i don't think this exists... but perhaps "advanced search" can meet your needs?

i'd interested too if anyone knows of a way to do this.

I looked at advanced search, but didn't see anything.

It is word search thing not character search so I don't think it will allow to search that way.

Maybe wildcards if allowed could do that. But I doubt that there will be some wildcards for characters.

Thanks for the comments so far.

Just to clarify...
What I'm looking for is a wildcard character, such as * to put before or after the term I'm searching for. So a search for bird* would bring up birdseed, birdhouse, and birdx for instance. I'm pretty sure Google does not have this option, so I'm looking for another way to accomplish these kinds of searches.
