Google Search Results in pricing of domain

Hi,

I would like to know how important are Google Search Results in pricing of domain name, especially keyword domain. Is it posible to sort domain value in list like this? And what is diffrence in worth if you compare .com and .net (example - BlaBla.com 1000, BlaBla.net 200 ???)


GSR - 0-1000 = regfee
GSR - 1000-100000 - lowXX$
GSR - 100000-300000- midXX$
GSR - 300000-1000000 -higXX$
GSR - 1000000-5000000 - lowXXX$
GSR - 5000000 up - midXXX

The amount of Adwords advertising is more interesting, this way you can determine how many people/businesses are focusing on your keyword(s) in your domain.

In my opinion, the GSR is only really of any significance if you are wholesaling domains, since if it is a common term, then it is more likely an end-user may end up buying it.

But it doesn't work for niche domains.

Far more important in my opinion is how often the word is being searched for by people.

You could look at past sales, and compare the GSR to the price paid. In end user prices, GSR has little significance in my opinion. A recent example would be
"iReport" with a GSR of 636,000.
Yet iReport.com Sold for $750,000 recently.

You actually have it backwards when it comes to keyword and non-keyword domains. Google results are less important for keywords.

Anyone interested in monetizing a domain should know that more search results = more competition = harder to get a good ranking. Generally this makes a domain less valuable if your plan is to optimize for organic traffic.

The only time I consider more google results as a positive is when I am valuating non-word acronyms - domains like bbbss.com or qvnh.com.

The number of google results is even more meaningless if you are not putting multiple words in quotes. Search for the three words - 11 me free - and you get 106 million results. Put them in quotes and you get 3. So how much do you think 11mefree.com is worth?

The most important factor in valuating a keyword domain is how many people are searching for those keywords. Followed by how much people are bidding for clicks on those keywords.

Is it more advisable that before I purchase a domain name I should do a google search on it?
