Google loses Gmail Trademark suit in Europe

Yup you read it right, Google loses Gmail Trademark suit in Europe. Apparently the suit has been going on for quite sometime. It appears that a German born capitalist Daniel Giersch has had the trademark for 6 years. And Google launched their Gmail in 2004. Gmiail offered Daniel Giersch $250,000 for the trademark, Giersch turned it down.

As well as Microsoft and APPLE iTunes and many other enterprises that want to monopolize the globe.

I do believe in enterprise and protecting one's brand, but some companies are finding not so friendly judges and juries in other nations that view some of these companies as just simply bullying their way into the market and claiming rights to everything.

Absolutely fair judgment and definitely not a respectable offer. Google made the offer and it was rejected and then they file action against him.

YES! thankfully the global domination from the likes of Google, MS, Apple, etc. is held at bay. I'm not saying their products aren't good, but it gets to show that money doesn't decide it all.

250k for gmail is a joke, i wouldn't have accepted that offer either. Especially considering the purchase of YouTube for 1.7 Billion.
Gmail is an instrumental part of google, 250k to obtain a TM that has been around for years longer than gmail? Get real.
