"Calling all creators: .channel is now available for registration

Google Registry, the domain registry behind some of the internet’s most popular (.app) and fun (.meme) new top-level domains, is launching .channel today.
Designed specifically for creators and publishers to build their online storefronts, sell digital and physical products and connect with their audiences, .channel is now available for anyone to register as part of our Early Access Program. Here’s what you need to know about registration:
  • Early access period: February 4 - February 11, 2025. For an additional one-time fee, anyone can register their desired .channel domain. The one-time fee decreases according to a daily schedule through February 11.
  • General availability: February 11, 2025 onwards. Starting on February 11, .channel domains will be publicly available at a base annual price through your registrar of choice.
  • All phases begin and end at 16:00 UTC.
To snag your .channel domain, visit get(dot)channel today."

Had to convert blog(dot)google to plain text due to not being able to post links.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

If you're a content creator on YouTube I think these are fine (if you can't get the .com) to consolidate your content.

But for resellers they're worthless. YouTube is already out of good handles, and for established handles it's a UDRP risk.
