Does google have a problem with .info domains?

I created a total of 6 directories all within a month
of each other (mid Oct-early nov)
2 .com's
2 .ca
1 .in
1 .info

All are indexed EXCEPT the .info??
Anyone know why?
I have submitted it to google at least 5 times
over the last 5 weeks!

Is there something different about the .info's?

Thanks for your help.

Google's fine with .infos. I have a .info that's been locked in at #1 out of 100 million for several years. My new .info sites are indexed just like any other sites.

Remember, though, submitting sites to Google isn't the way to get them listed; the way to get them listed is by getting them good quality backlinks.

Wendy, i would not continue to submit them anymore to Google or other Search Engines because otherwise you will be flooding them with requests and can be considered as spamming.

Building backlinks is the best route you can take right now.

You might be getting sandboxed by google. With your abundace of entries. Do you remember what postition you sumbitted the .info?

Thanks akrasia and Ed for your replies...

I never added backlinks to the others,
I just did them all the same. Set up directories
and submitted them to a directory site, and they've
all been going strong ever since, just wondered why this one was
left behind by google :(
I only ever submitted the others once,
then I noticed that the .info wasn't indexed
so I did it again... and again ...

Once a week for 5 weeks and they'd sandbox me?
(it was the only one I resubmitted)

the .info was the 3rd one submitted...If I remember correctly..

Could be the subject matter - are there a lot of sites about the subject of your .info? Sandbox is for new sites, G does not consider it a penalty, more a "prove yourself" time. If there are not many sites on a subject there is no sandbox.

All 6 are just directories, other than links, no content!
they were all brand new when submitted to google - just wondering
why the .info was left behind and not the other 5
I'll give it another couple of weeks and if it's still not, maybe I'll
email them and ask if there is something wrong with it.
Maybe something happened in the setup that was different, yet
it functions perfectly.

.info domains have been widely used by search engine spammers simply because the purchase price of .info is much cheaper compared to .com .net .ca domain registration pricing.

Your .info directory site is most likely more scrutinized by Google then other extensions. At least this seems very plausible to me.

Google has no problems with .infos!

You say that you submitted your sites to a directory. Are they all listed on the same page or not? Perhaps for some reason (e.g. the internal linking pattern of the directory, or the update pattern of the directory) your .info is listed on a page that is crawled less frequently than the pages on which your others sites are listed (or was added just after Google's last visit), so hasn't been found yet even though the others have.

One other thought: might there be issues with duplicate content (six unique directories in a month is a lot of work)?

.info is growing very quickly. Google now indexes more pages from .info than whole countries ccTLDs

only .jp .de .uk have more pages indexed as its just past .ca
