Hi,

I'd like to ask whether you know good ICANN accredited registrars which

1. offers (almost) all worldwide cctld's to register
2. where domain transfers and change of ownership (internal and to other registrars) are easy and without hassle or restrictions
3. where I can move my existing cctld domains to

in a quick, secure and professional environment.

Thanks for your help.

Best wishes
Mike

Let me clarify to you,

That .VU names are only managed by the registry and no where else. (I got your message on afternic). To "sell a name" you tranfer the account by giving the password for that account name. Thus it is CRITICAL to NOT have two domains under the same NIC handle.

Kind Regards,
Sam

I know that about different handles, Sam, I figured that out and am not dumb. Then you surely have seen that you cannot change the first and last name in the edit infos! Giving out the passwords doesn't mean anything if YOUR name is still there and cannot be changed, neither by you nor by the new owner.

If you have a solution for this please let me know, I'd be very grateful. Also share what you'll tell any interested clients about the devastating infrastructure and the lack of a secured members area. I am sure they will be convinced to death and ready to pay high $x,xxx.

No problem is to push a name at Godaddy, namecheap, moniker etc. but THIS, you'll better don't show anyone.

Regards
Mike

Who honestly cares about an owner's name change? Will it matter? as long as its your address, your email, your contact information. No one really gives that much of a hoot. My name can easily be Tim Liu or Bob Doe instead of Sam Huang.

You can probably email the registry if you really want to change the name.

You must be joking here, Sam. That might be your opinion and you think here as a domainer. But I on the other hand think also as a customer.

If a client buys a domain and gets ownership transferred he will surely want to have it in his name, wouldn't he? It is his right and let us be honest he WILL expect it. Who will buy a domain which he wants to call his/hers but in the whois YOUR name remains listed?

So you would feel comfortable by having others control domains where you are listed as the owner in the whois? What if the buyer later does something illegal? He changes the email address back to yours and then you'll have nice time proving it wasn't you. (what wouldn't be difficult maybe but is it worth the hassle?) Another prob would arise when domain gets renewed. Customer pays with his CC though you are still listed as the owner of the domain. Again hassle years later when you have never thought it might come back to you again.

For you it might be worthless all this but I am thinking long term and when doing business doing it properly and no half things.

I have emailed vunic and asked them also in regard if they can manually change names. I have yet to receive a reply from Jean-Yves, Gerard didn't answer at all. This speaks volumes for me and they care less about such things (security, thinking as a client) either.

Btw, vunic is NOT the only registrar for .vu names but those I found are much more expensive and transfer fees are obscene.
