Godaddy Cant transfer domain names for 60 days ?

I've basically bought some domain names , via ebay and have transfered them into my account.

But once there in my godaddy account , it states there policy that the domain name cannot be transfered for 60 days.

this does seem a tad unfair , if i have bought the name to try and sell before the 60 days.

also i find this policy is the same when you update any of the details , such as change of address , email etc that would be associated with the domain name

i fully appericate this is i'm sure to help prevent any kind of fraud and a name been sold that was not the other persons to sell etc.

But have i got this right ??? i cant sell the domain name for 60 days ???

You can push the domain to another Godaddy account....just can't transfer it to another Registrar. You can still sell it.

Just to clarify that a bit in case anyone's confused, you can "sell" the domain
name to anyone. But transferring it to the buyer is an entirely different thing.

What you seem to be just wondering (pun intended) is why that 60-day thing
is there. All registrars follow that no-domain-registrar-transfer-until-60-days-
after-their-initial-registration-date rule, but Go Daddy has their own also:

http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/legal_agreements/show_doc.asp?pageid=TRANSFER_SA

Go Daddy may elect to accept or reject your domain name transfer application for any reason at its sole discretion. Rejections may include, but are not limited to: The original registration took place less than sixty (60) days prior to the transfer request. The Domain Name Registrant was changed less than sixty (60) days prior to the transfer request.
The bold part includes any field under registrant. I didn't include the others.

FYI, Network Solutions also adopted this rule on their own.

You can still sell the domain. If the buyer has a GoDaddy account also, you can do what's called a PUSH to his account. This gets you around the 60 day rule. If the buyer doesn't have a GoDaddy account, just ask him to set one up and then push the domain.
