One of my worst experience so far with @GoDaddy. On 14 June 2025 I tried registering dreamhouse.ws and ordered and paid for it. Before I checked with other registrars Namecheap and Dynadot and it was showing to be registry premium. I was surprised with Godaddy showing it under normal pricing. That's when I ordered. It never got registered despite showing the new domain website template (the domain was never in my account). I asked through live chat. The support person said they will re-attempt 3 more times and if failed, refund will be processed "automatically" in 48 hours. 2 days passed no news, no updates and my domain still unregistered (because it's still available even in Godaddy search itself, of course others also).

2 times 48 hours have passed (the second support person also told me the same 48 hours automatic refund and all that). Nothing happened so far. Today is 20 June. No registration nor the refund. Forget automatic, it's not even done manually. For simple INR 1000 I had to keep going to support who never resolved my issue. They didn't register the domain I ordered, nor refunded my payment.

Worst ever experience with a registrar. And I am not new to Godaddy. Unbelievable!

I just discovered something strange on my receipts from buying expired domains.

After paying for a domain, I always print out the receipts immediately. As I'm a buyer from EU, there is usually a EU MOSS number under the GoDaddy.com LLC address at the bottom. This indicates that when it comes to VAT, the transaction should be handled like buying from a merchant within the EU.

BUT, I just discovered that the EU MOSS part has been removed retroactively some time after printing the receipts. This means that either my book keeping records are now wrong, or the GoDaddy receipts are wrong.

As I clearly remember that when approving the transaction on my phone it said the counterpart was a GoDaddy company in the Netherlands, the EU MOSS thing should indeed be included on the receipts.

@GoDaddy This is an important detail for all investors in the EU. What's going on?

I'm trying to transfer domains from godaddy to spaceship.com and only managed to transfer about 24 domains out of 75, after 3 attempts. Mostly .com, They were unlocked and the codes match, and I have a VIP account at godaddy, there is no explanation why the transfers were rejected. Anyone having similar issues?

update: it was resolved now, turns out I needed to disable privacy, in addition to unlocking

Have you tried generating new codes?

Is it no longer possible to expedite transfers at GoDaddy? My domain is not a premium one that requires extra verification, yet it is still pending transfer after I approved the transfer in the Transfers section.

The fees at GD are getting insane.

A $38 auction win ends up as a $75 total cost!

It blows my mind.

@Embrand I expedited out this am without issue. Are you sure they don't consider your name premium requiring high risk transfer wait?

I guess that could be the case, although it is just a regular 5-letter .com with average letters. Let's see if I get that email from GoDaddy's Transfer Verify Team soon.

@Embrand you can export your domain list and see if it shows there.

Good price for the quality you get

I think the only way they can afford to remove the ads is by selling .com's for $20. Look at enom, see what I mean? :)
100% agree, sometimes itโ€™s a hassle but compared to all the other options itโ€™s nice to just get on godaddy and KNOW Iโ€™m about to get a nice domain instantly even if it is a few more bucks and they try to capitalize, worth it to me at the moment for just quickly securing domains I need

Thanks, but I have an account manager at GoDaddy. I think I will reach out to him.

@Embrand ok. But it takes less than a couple minutes to export your list including all columns. And if it is a high risk transfer needing approval it will show there.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I tried to export a list now. For the domain I am transferring, I can only see that the Estimated Value is $2,051 and the Valuation Wholesale is a whopping $4 ๐Ÿ˜…

Update: My GoDaddy account manager just confirmed it is because they see it as a high value name. Probably not because of the name itself, but simply because of its length. But I have expedited many transfers of 5-letter .coms away from GoDaddy in the past, so maybe this is a new thing.

Usually with the export, you can see in the status column pending transfer - high risk. But at least you know now.

My manager takes a while to get back to me.....You received a quick reply:)

You don't become a multi billion company by not exploiting your employees into working weekends :)

they all work from home as far as I can tell. So can't be too bad:)

I worked in Norway for 7 years. In their culture, it is considered rude and exploitary to even expect that people have to check/respond to their emails outside of normal work hours and work week. While, in the USA, from bosses to colleagues to clients, everyone expects you to check your emails and sms and respond to them. Weekend should be the rest/recharge/family time without interventions/interuptions, unless they get in-lieu other days off.
