GoDaddy Transfer

Hi guys..

I was hoping someone more knowledgable than me can help me with transeferring a sold domain through GoDaddy.

The buy has asked me to:

1 - Contact your current registrar and request them to :
a) Unlock the domain names
b) Email the authorisation code for each domain to you
c) Remove any Privacy/Proxy settings for domains which have this setting

2 - Email me the domain names and authorisation codes for each domain name and also confirming that any privacy/proxy settings have been removed.

The above requests can also be conducted via Godaddy's online portal but only if you are familiar with their system but if not then they will always assist you via telephone but you may have to stay on hold for a while.

Can someone guide me into how i go about about doing this on the online portal? I want to avoid a costly phone call to GoDaddy!Mnay thanks!

1 - Go into your Godaddy account.
2 - Go to the area with your domains.
3 - On each domain:

a) Unlock the domain names (There is a link for this)
b) Email the authorisation code for each domain to you (There is a link for this)
c) Remove any Privacy/Proxy settings for domains which have this setting (If you have this, there should be an option to remove it, but I can't instruct you)

- I don't think the privacy settings cause any problems for a transfer. If you can't find this, confirm with the buyer that it's needed.

- If you have many domains, you can run a report in your account that will be emailed to you and you can select that all the AUTH codes are included in the report. You can remove any you are NOT selling and send the report to the buyer.

- You can also bulk -select to remove the locks on the domains. Just select all the ones you want to change and then click the link to unlock them.

Most important thing: Did the buyer already pay you for the domains and can you verify you have the money? If not, we might want to talk because there are many scammers out there, and you clearly are not experienced at this.

Or if you have someone demanding that you give them the domain names, you may not have to do that. PM me if that is the case (I say another post by you just now.)

yes the money is being held by safenames.net and they have sent an invoice so i should be right.

I have not heard of safenames.net, but their site looks ok. Still, you should be notified that they have your money before proceeding. Good Luck!

By the way, if you need to call Godaddy in the US from the UK, I can tell you how you can do that for 2 to 5 cents a minute. Very inexpensive.
