Transfering a private domain to another registrar

Hi guys.

I have some queries. I would like to know how to transfer a domain which is under privacy protection to another registrar. The domain is protected under contactprivacy.com and the authorisation emails just doesn't get sent to the Administrator's email.

I tried google but found nothing.

Anyone?

Check your control panel. Perhaps the admin E-mail is set to the registrar's so you wan't transfer away too easily

I would suggest removing the privacy protection temporarily during the transfer process or at least changing the admin email address to something else. Sometimes these privacy services do not always forward the mail to you in a manner youd like. I know some privacy services require someone to fill out a web based form to contact you instead of using the whois email. You may have to restart the transfer after changing your admin email address. Also be sure that the domain is unlocked during the transfer process and isn't close to the expiration date. Depending upon the gaining registrar, it can sometimes take up to 5 business days to complete a transfer. You don't want your domain expiring in the middle of a transfer. If that happens the transfer will usually fail and you will have to renew with your current registrar.
