Godaddy currently has a transfer of mine sitting in status "Verifying Whois Contact Information". And Recommended Action is "waiting".

My question is... is this normal, and how long will it take? will they send me an email to confirm the transfer, or will it just show up in the "my domains" section? I've been waiting for 7 days now, and I need the domain ASAP. Is there a chance that this will take a lot longer, and is there a chance that it may not go through at all?

Please answer my question, I am very anxious to get the domain as it was already sold to another individual.

Thank you for your replies!

You should have gotten an email sent to the email account for that "username", that contained a link you had to click to verify the transfer - Godaddy is goofy in this aspect in my opinion, making this harder than it has to be IMHO. If you didn't get the email, send one to support via https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/support_submit_question.asp (AFTER you login to your account, if you have one with that domain addy). Chose "domain transfers" from the "Product" drop-down list.

Your message is a little confusing. It sounds like you are waiting to get the domain, but you are selling it to someone else?

If that's true, you need to know that once you get a domain transfered to you, and the registrant information changes, you will not be able to transfer the domain for 60 days. You may be able to do an "account change" and give the domain to someone else, but not a transfer.

Now if you are tranfering to your account, the current registrar should have sent the current owner an email to have them approve the transfer. If they didn't do that, it could be why you are still waiting. 6 days is a normal wait for a transfer.

The best thing to do is to contact Godaddy's support.

If you need to transfer the domain to another buyer, it may be good that the transfer has not gone through yet. This would allow you to stop it and have the seller tranfer directly to your buyer... once you get paid of course.

Hi Bargain-Domains,

How did you fix the problem? I'm in the same situation right now.

Thanks,
Ryan
